Genome Club Inauguration

The Genome Club of The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Imphal was formally inaugurated by Prof. I. S. Khaidem, former Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University at a function attended by many scientists and distinguished invitees from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Manipur University, Central Agricultural University, colleges and other institutions. The genome club with the vision of “genetic literacy for all” will have its focus on recent technological developments in the field of biotechnology application on Bioresources utilization and its impact on human welfare. This friendly forum will bring together all interested persons to know/ share/ debate about the biotechnological research and developments. Genome club meetings features, at present, invited lectures, training, awareness programs, seminars, etc. in the Institute.

The powers and duties of its officers and employees

Director

Director will be responsible to the Governing Body for realizing the objectives of the Institute as approved by the said body.

It shall be the duty of the Director to carry on the work of the Institute in accordance with the Rules and Bye-laws for the administration and management of the Institute.

Director shall have powers to issue standing orders relating to the business of the Institute subject to the provisions of the Rules/Bye-Laws of the Institute.

Director shall allocate duties to the officers and staff of the Institute and shall excersie such supervision, control and discipline as may be necessary.

Director may also delegate his/her powers to officers as per such limitations or conditions as may be imposed by him/her

In case of emergency, he/she may take such action as may be deemed necessary and report it to the Governing Body through the Chairman

All members of the staff of the Institute shall be under the administrative control of the Director

Duties of Principal Investigators/Departmental Heads/Incharges

The  principal investigators/department heads shall supervise and direct the work in their respective subjects (research/administration) under the general direction of the Director

Duties of Senior Administrative Officer and Senior Account Officer

Office Establishment and mangement

Senior Administrative Officer shall be responsible to the Director of the Institute in respect of Office establishment and management.

 

Annual Budget estimates and accounts

The Senior Accounts Officer of the Institute shall prepare, in consultation with the Director, the Annual Budget estimates and accounts of the Institute for submission to the Governing Body.

Disbursement of salaries; and other financial expenses under the signatures of Director or another authorized faculty or staff member.

Various documents are held in the Director's office; in the record room; with Senior Administrative Officer

Categories of documents held

Directors' Office/Office of Administration and other offices ( depending upon sensitivity of the subject, documents are accordingly kept, as mentioned (above point )

Budget allocation including particulars of all plans, proposed expenditures reports on disbursements
