Lokesh Dev Experimental Pharmacology and toxicology

Lokesh Deb is engaged in ethnopharmacological Survey, collection and identification of bioresources (Plant, insect and microbes) used in traditional / folklore medicines of North-East India and pharmacological & toxicological evaluation of active constituents from the same bioresources. His researches also accomplish value addition to those bioactive components for commercial exploitation. As part of broad objectives of his research presently he involved in documentation & Screening of Manipur Traditional Medicine (MTM) & its components used for inflammatory disorders with an aim to develop commercially viable products. Hence, he focused on justifying the traditional claim by the help of scientific tools. His area of interest includes:

  1. Experimental Pharmacology for inflammatory disorders including cancer.
  2. Pharmacodynamics exploration with special reference to NF – k B phenomenon.
  3. Enzymology specially COX and LOX.
